The first step to taking any CTS-D exam is determining whether or not you are eligible. Each exam has different eligibility requirements. To be eligible for the CTS-D exam, you must be a CTS-holder in good standing with at least two years of AV design experience. Check the candidate handbook for specific eligibility requirements.

You can submit your application to take the CTS-D exam online or via email, mail, or fax. Once your application is processed, InfoComm's Certification department will notify both you and the testing center organization, Pearson Vue, of your eligibility to test.

You can then schedule your test appointment at www.pearsonvue.com/infocomm. Try to allow a two to three week window in which to schedule your exam.

You'll take your test at a Pearson Vue testing center. You'll receive your results immediately upon submitting the exam. If you pass, congratulations! You're now a Certified Technology Specialist in Design. If not, you can schedule a retest at a reduced rate. See the candidate handbook for more information on retesting.
